Hello reader, it's time to share!
Reflecting on the last year, I can honestly say I have learnt so much from the wonderful working relationships I have had - each and every client has taught me something new!
Here's some of my reflections!
It's unnerving trusting a stranger with your inner thoughts, feelings and experiences. Something I feel very honoured to provide is an environment where people feel like this is easy to do. It's not a conscious thing - as much as I'd like to take the credit! I'm bowled away by the bravery and vulnerability of the individuals I have worked with. A constant reminder of how amazing humans are!
It's a work in progress with everything.. we are always making moves and taking steps towards goals even when we dont realise it. Its in the little things and the continuous commitment to make descisions which reflect that.
We cannot change if we do not want to.
If we experience resistance to change It's really helpful to look inwards and try to better understand why that is, something I have often helped clients with. Once you have this information.. then you can decide if you're ready for changes. Healing is both conscious and unconscious. You do have to lead the way.
We are not all broken.
We all have behaviours or patterns as a result of our collective experiences - personality traits and perhaps quirks that people remember us for. I really want to put across the idea that you don't need to remove everything or work on everything.. and you're not something unfixable or too far gone.
Sometimes the thing we need to look at most is the ideas we hold about ourselves .. which can sometimes be unkind. The voice that tells us we aren't good at something..or that we are too chatty or annoying is not ours... the idea of removing that pesky voice in the ear brings a whole new level of freedom and acceptance.. removing that list of ten things you've been wanting to change. You see?
Progress is still progress even in wonky lines if you're in a conscious state of awareness.
What I mean to say is - don't feel defeated by a difficult day.. or decision .. when you commit yourself to changing your life we are still living the human experience! Each day is filled with opportunities to better understand who and why we are the way we are. Even on a theraputic journey it's normal to feel like we want every day from the beginning to be better than the next. Let's be realistic and as a result kinder to ourselves. If you accept each day and descision as an opportunity to learn. You'll do just fine!
Letting go is one of the largest messages I think I have come across this year. Its not as simply as dropping an object on command. Its much, much deeper than that. But with the right space and process it is so possible.
Permission to let go sometimes needs to come first and it's beautiful to behold!
I am winding down a little for the festive period.. embracing the slowness of the winter months and spending time with loved ones.
Here's hoping you can feel happy, loved and centred in the year ahead!
I'd love to hear your own reflection on the last year.. do you have a message or reflection?
